One on one training makes me feel safe and targets areas that I need to improve on. The space is comfortable, filled with natural light and very well equipped.

What should I expect from my first Pilates session with you?
First, we'll have a conversation about any past injuries, goals, and current fitness routine. Then, get ready to sweat. You will get settled in and straight into the workout. The equipment is probably unlike Pilates equipment you’ve seen before – the reformer is all aluminum, the springs are tighter, the straps are leather. I’m going to walk you through a sequence of exercises that requires effort of every inch of your body – it’s a comprehensive, full body workout. I’ll recommend exercises on equipment that is personalized for you. The 55-minute session will get you good and sweaty, but you’ll walk away with a spring in your step with a little more energy than you came in with.
What is Classical Pilates and why does the equipment look different?
Classical Pilates is a rigorous workout that includes the original set of exercises created by Joseph Pilates. It’s a tried and true method that progresses as you practice. Classical instructors typically undergo training of no less than 600+ hours of observation and apprenticeship and attend continuing education courses.
Over the last few years, I've dedicated myself to learning the Classical Pilates method and, wow, I want to shout it from the rooftops, “Pilates will make you look and feel amazing!” Classical Pilates, the original method created by Joseph Pilates, is a self-guided workout with equipment and it's a practice that can be built upon over time. While working with me, you can build the strength and energy to chase after your kids or grandkids, improve performance in any sport, and generally rid yourself of aches and pains. I became an avid Pilates fan after having my two daughters, but I believe it can be valuable for anyone at any stage of life.
What should I wear to Pilates?
For ladies, I recommend a tightly fitted shirt, sports bra and yoga pants with a high waist. Socks are optional. Thin, sticky Pilates socks are great, but not required. For men, shorts with built-in spandex lining and a sweat wicking t-shirt works well.
If I have an injury, can I do Pilates?
Pilates can be a great fitness routine to supplement with physical therapy. I require, if injured, that first you’ve been to an MD or PT and he / she is aware of your desire to start a new Pilates regimen. Get smart on your injury and make sure to communicate any contraindications to me, so we can modify your workouts as necessary.
How often should I do Pilates?
Joseph Pilates famously said of his system, “In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 sessions you'll see the difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body.” The only caveat is that the sessions need to be both consistent and frequent. The standard industry recommendation is about 3-4 full 60-min workouts a week and sprinkle in additional exercise like walking, tennis, golf, cycling, etc. Stay consistent, and the difference you’ll both feel and see will be incredible!
